Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, April 25th, 2011
The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, April 25th, 2011 at 6:30 PM. Chair, Dave Blume called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: Chair, Dave Blume, Laura Jean Blotz, Curt Peterson, Anthony Esch, and Robert Butler. David Thomas and Matthew Chitwood were absent.
Others in attendance were: Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, John Hovancak, Lyle Foley, Corey Berg, Audrey Christie, Charlie Rolli and Charles Price.
Chairman Blume verified that proper notice of the meeting was posted on April 20, 2011 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Jumping Jupiter, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Laura Jean Blotz made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Robert Butler seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Curt Peterson made a motion to nominate Anthony Esch as the Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission Chairman due to David Blume is longer able to serve as chair as he was elected to be a Town Official. Robert Butler seconded the motion. Motion carried. Curt Peterson made a motion to nominate Laura Jean Blotz as the Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission Vice Chairman. David Blume seconded the motion. Motion carried.
David Blume made a motion to approve the February 28th, 2011 meeting minutes as presented. Laura Jean Blotz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Chairman Esch asked Cory Berg (Owner) and Lyle Foley (Lease Holder) who submitted the conditional use request to explain the current request. Lyle Foley stated that he is trying to get a conditional use permit to consider a dinner theatre/restaurant with associated uses to include bar, pool rooms, dancing, family entertainment, banquets, weddings and small gift shop indoors. Outdoor uses would include a farmer’s market, antique/collector car, motorcycle and tractor shows, and games such as volleyball and/or horseshoes. He also requested the allowance to park a horse trailer on his property to perform search and rescue in Governor Dodge State Park. The landowner would need to obtain an easement from the adjacent property owner in order to have accessibility off of Rowe Road. This conditional use request is on a 4.81-acre B-2 Highway Business lot in S16-T6N-R3E located at 3625 State Road 23 in the Town of Dodgeville.
The Town Planning Commission and Lyle Foley discussed outdoor lighting issues, noise level concerns and signage. Lyle Foley had indicated that there will be no bands outdoors and all outdoor activity will seize at dusk.

There was no discussion on Item #7 (Farmland Preservation Update).
The Town Planning Commission indicated that they should review and further discuss at the next meeting the Working Lands Initiative exercise that was given by Iowa County Planning & Developing depending on the outcome of the state budget.
David Blume made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:17 p.m. Laura Jean Blotz seconded the motion. Motion carried.
