Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, April 29th, 2019

The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, April 29th, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. Plan Commission Chairman Greg Jewell called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:02 P.M.

Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: Larry Nelson, Peter Vanderloo, Curt Peterson, Ron Robson and Daryl Tresner. Absent was: David Pope.

Others in attendance were: Gail Butteris, Matthew Butteris, Theresa Heuer and Rosemary McCrea.

Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated that Planning Commission Chairman, Greg Jewell’s term has expired and David Pope’s position would need to be filled on the Planning Commission as he has currently been elected to the Town Board. The Town Chairman, Curt Peterson thanked and recognized Greg Jewell and David Pope for their service on the Planning Commission.

Plan Commission Chairman Greg Jewell verified that proper notice of the public hearing was posted on April 16th, 2019 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Pleasant Ridge Store, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Daryl Tresner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Larry Nelson made a motion to approve the February 25th, 2019 Plan Commission meeting minutes meeting minutes as submitted. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried. Curt Peterson abstained from the motion.

The Planning Commission, Theresa Heuer and Rosemary McCrea who were representing Charles Grimm discussed the conditional use application of Charles Grimm to create two AR-1 lots of approximately 2.5 acres more or less located in part of the W part of the NE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 34, Township 6 North, Range 3 East located at 721 S. Linn. The Planning Commission discussed access to the proposed property, the existing shared driveway, shared driveway agreements, location of a proposed driveway and possible water concerns. Town Chairman Curt Peterson indicated that these would be addressed during the driveway approval process. Several members of the Planning Commission indicated that they had homes built by Joseph Grimm who would be a sibling to the applicant. Curt Peterson made a motion to recommend the approval of the conditional use permit of Charles Grimm to create two AR-1 lots of approximately 2.5 acres more or less located in part of the W part of the NE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 34, Township 6 North, Range 3 East located at 721 S. Linn. Ron Robson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The Town Planning Commission discussed the Butteris’s request to allow two residential homes on an AR-1 lot. The Planning Commission indicated that the Butteris’s should contact Iowa County Planning & Development in regards to this request to see if it would be something that the county would be interested in discussing at the county level.

Town Chairman Curt Peterson presented information in regards to how Iowa County has changed demographically over the past decade.

Greg Jewell made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 p.m. Daryl Tresner seconded the motion. Motion carried.
