Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, April 29th, 2024

The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, April 29th at 6:00 P.M. Planning Commission member Curt Peterson called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:02 P.M.

Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were Curt Peterson, Peter Vanderloo, Julie Dolan, Paul Lawinger and Mary Wilson. Absent was: Krista Dolan.

Others in attendance: Darren Hansen, Bruce Bowden and Randy Weber.

Planning Commission member Curt Peterson verified that proper notice of the public hearing was posted on April 24th, 2024 in accordance with WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Pleasant Ridge Store, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Mary Wilson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Mary Wilson made a motion to approve the March 25th, 2024 meeting minutes as presented. Paul Lawinger seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The rezoning application of Darren & Carrie Hansen and Robert & Jane Hansen Revocable Trust to rezone a 3.085 acre parcel more or less from A-1 Ag & AR-1 to AR-1 to enlarge an existing AR-1 lot located in the NE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 25, Township 7 North, Range 2 East located at 3589 Hunter Hollow Road. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented the application and maps. The Planning Commission discussed the rezoning petition and the request to add 1 acre to the existing 2.085 acres to meet setback for a shed they are wishing to enlarge. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to rezone a 3.085 acre parcel more or less from A-1 Ag & AR-1 to AR-1 to enlarge an existing AR-1 lot located in the NE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 25, Township 7 North, Range 2 East located at 3589 Hunter Hollow Road. Julie Dolan seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented the plat of the Military Ridge Subdivision, a copy of the declaration of protective covenants and restrictions and a map of the property owned by the Weber’s as well as the existing Outlots that border there property. The Town Planning Commission, Bruce Bowden (Surveyor) and Randy Weber discussed the potential re-platting of Lot 5, Military Ridge Subdivision as well as the information in the declaration of protective covenants and restrictions. Declaration of covenants and restrictions are civil matters and would need to be enforced by who is listed on the document. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson had questions in regards to liability to the Township as well as the Weber’s in regards to the re-platting of Lot 5 and recommended the Weber’s to contact an attorney to ask questions in regards to liability as well as the declaration of covenants and restrictions as he wants no liability to the Township. No action was taken.

Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented the Planning Commission members with the bullet points from the previous meeting in regards to possible ideas to allow individuals to separate off smaller parcels of land to allow family member to build while still conserving cropland. The Planning Commission members further discussed the bullet points and was asked to further brainstorm ideas as well as they would be further discussing this topic at the May Planning Commission meeting. No action was taken.

Mary Wilson made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:10 p.m. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
