Town Board Meeting Minutes
January 2nd, 2024
*6:00 p.m. *
1) Call to order. Town Supervisor, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Town Supervisors in attendance were Peter Vanderloo, David Pope, Pam Johnson-Loy and Kyle Levetzow. Also in attendance were Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Randy Beerkircher and Kevin Zajicek.
Everyone in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, David Pope made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, Kyle Levetzow. Motion carried.
3) Public Comment. Town Supervisor, Kyle Levetzow provided information to the Board in regards to the Tourism Promotion & Development Committee meeting held at the City of Dodgeville.
4) Approval of Meeting Minutes from December 5th, 2023. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the meeting minutes from December 5th, 2023 as presented. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
5) Approval of Treasurer’s Report for General, Sanitary District #1 and Tax Collection Account. David Pope made a motion to approve the Town of Dodgeville’s December 2023 Treasurer’s Report stating the following fund balances:
General Checking $ 210,118.29
General Checking – Tax Funds $ 334,928.62
Farmer’s Savings $ 2.027.18
Farmer’s Savings – Tax Funds $ 814,925.05
Local Government Investment Pool $ 7,882.99
Farmer’s Savings Tax Account $ 777,494.77
Intra-Fi CD’s $ 415,237.62
Township Funds: $ 635,266.08
Tax Funds: $1,927,348.44
ARPA Funds: $ 130,407.84
Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
David Pope made a motion to approve Sanitary District #1 Treasurer’s Report as submitted stating the following fund balances:
Sanitary District #1 $ 19,368.63
Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
6) Bills to be approved. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the January 2nd, 2024 vouchers in the amount of $77,540.60 and Sanitary District #1 vouchers in the amount of $3,800.10. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
7) Town Roads/Equipment Report. The Town Patrolmen presented information in regards to the town roads and equipment. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated that she would be submitting the documentation to the state for the Military Ridge Road project to receive reimbursement.
8) Clerk/Treasurer Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson updated the board in regards to property taxes collections, nomination papers received and the audit that would be performed on January 15th & 16th.
9) Discussion & possible action re: Planning Commission Recommendations. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented the planning commission recommendations and information in regards to the applications and conditional use permits. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to recommend the approval of the rezoning application of John B. Potterton to rezone 1.99 acres from A-1 Ag Legal Non-Conforming to AR-1 located in part of the NW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 9, Town 6 North, Range 3 East located at 4028 State Road 23 with the condition of a shared driveway agreement if agreeable by both parties that share the existing driveway. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried. No action was taken by the Town Board in regards to the rezoning application and conditional use permit application of Donald & Pauline Ley.
10) Approval or Denial of Operator’s License: Melissa March. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the operator’s license for Melissa March for the remaining of the 2023-2024 licensing year. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
11) Discussion & possible action re: Quickbooks 2021 Discontinuation. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented an e-mail that was received from Intuit in regards to the discontinuation of Quickbooks 2021. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated she would be obtaining information in regards to the upgrading of Quickbooks and other software availabilities. No action was taken.
12) Discussion & possible action re: Selling of 12’ V-Plow. The Town Board discussed the selling of the 12’ V-Plow. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to list the item for sale with Wisconsin Surplus taking the item up to there location unless there is a fee otherwise viewing of the item will be held at the Town Shop with a minimum bid of $500.00. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
13) Adjournment. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:26 p.m. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
