Town Board Meeting Minutes
January 4, 2011
6:00 p.m.

1) Call to order. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

Town Supervisors in attendance were: Thomas Mueller, David Gollon, and Charlie Price. Also in attendance were Clerk Sara Olson, Kevin Zijaick and Jeff Haylock.

2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, Charlie Price made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, Thomas Mueller. Motion carried.

3) Approval of Meeting Minutes from December 7th, 2010. Thomas Mueller made a motion to approve the December 7th, 2010 minutes as submitted. Charlie Price seconded the motion. Motion carried.

4) Approval of Treasurer’s Report for General, Sanitary District #1, 2, 3 and Tax Collection Account. Thomas Mueller made a motion to approve the Town of Dodgeville December 2010 Treasurer’s Report as submitted stating the following fund balances:

General Checking $ 78,994.69
Farmer’s Savings $ 731,418.01
M&I Tax Account $ 493,797.39
Local Government Investment Pool $ 6,943.05
M&I CD’s $ 150,920.28

Total Funds: $1,462,073.42

David Gollon seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Charlie Price made a motion to approve Sanitary Districts #1, 2, 3 Treasurer’s Report and Tax Collection Account as submitted stating the following fund balances:

Sanitary District #1 $13,790.11
Sanitary District #2 $ 3,220.39
Sanitary District #3 $ 262.94

Thomas Mueller seconded the motion. Motion carried.

5) Bills to be approved. Thomas Mueller made a motion to approve all the January Vouchers as submitted totaling $26,059.54. Charlie Price seconded the motion. Motion carried.

6) Town Road Report. Town Chairman Curt Peterson had indicated that the Town Board would need to select an engineer in 2011 for the Blotz bridge project. Curt Peterson also indicated that the design would need to be completed in 2012 and construction would possible begin in 2013.

7) Clerk/Treasurer Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson had presented the Town Board with an e-mail containing the 2011WLI rezoning conversion fees for Iowa County.

8) Discussion & possible action re: Chimney Rock Road Turn-Around. No action taken.

9) Discussion & possible action re: Purchasing of a Snow Blower for Tractor. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented the Town Board members with 3 quotes for a snow blower for the tractor. The Town Board discussed the advantages and disadvantages to purchasing a snow blower and indicated that they would not be taking any action at this time. No action taken.

10) Discussion & possible action re: Outdoor Lighting at the Town Garage. Town Chairman Curt Peterson indicated that the outdoor lighting at the Town garage was not working properly. Thomas Mueller made a motion to obtain a price on the installation of dawn to dusk lights as well as the cost to rent a light pole from Alliant Energy Power & Light. Charlie Price seconded the motion. Motion carried.


11) Closed Session in Accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85 (1) (g) to confer with legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which is or is likely to become involved. Charlie Price seconded the motion. Motion carried. Roll call: Peterson, yes; Gollon, yes; Price, yes; and Mueller, yes. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson was also present during closed session.

12) Reconvene into Open Session. Thomas Mueller made a motion to reconvene into open session. David Gollon seconded the motion. Motion carried.

13) Board Action as a Result of Closed Session. Thomas Mueller made a motion to allow Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson to contact an attorney to obtain a legal opinion in reference to a Sanitary District Agreement. Charlie Price seconded the motion. Motion carried.

14) Public Comment. Charlie Price had indicated that there will be a Wisconsin Town’s Unit Meeting on January 25th, 2010 with guest speaker Craig Hardy.

15) Adjournment. Thomas Mueller made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:05 P.M. David Gollon seconded the motion. Motion carried.
