Town Board Meeting Minutes
January 5th, 2021
*6:00 p.m.*
1) Call to order. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.
Town Supervisors in attendance were David Pope, David Gollon, Kyle Levetzow and Peter Vanderloo. Also, in attendance were Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Mike Fenley, Scott Jelle and Randy Beerkircher.
Everyone in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
2) Public Comment. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson shared an e-mail received from John Dunbar expressing gratitude to the snow plow crew.
3) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, David Pope. Motion carried.
David Gollon made a motion to suspend the agenda and move to Item #9, Discussion & possible action re: Town Building Inspector. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.
4) Discussion & possible action re: Town Building Inspector. The Town Board met and discussed the assignment of the building inspection contract with Michael Fenley and Scott Jelle from Total Inspection Services. David Gollon made a motion to accept and approve the assignment of the current building inspection contract to Scott Jelle from Total Inspection Services effective January 1st, 2021. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.
5) Approval of Meeting Minutes from December 1st and December 10th 2020. The Town Board discussed the meeting minutes from December 1st 2020 and recommended a modification be made to Item #2 Public Comment. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to approve the December 1st 2020 meeting minutes with the recommended modification to Item #2 Public Comment. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to approve the December 10th, 2020 meeting minutes as presented. David Gollon seconded the motion. Motion carried. David Pope and Kyle Levetzow abstained from the motion.
6) Approval of Treasurer’s Report for General, Sanitary District #1 and Tax Collection Account. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the Town of Dodgeville’s December 2020 Treasurer’s Report stating the following fund balances:
General Checking $ 61,376.45
Farmer’s Savings $ 102,826.71
Local Government Investment Pool $ 7,407.84
Farmer’s Savings Tax Account $ 714,488.54
Mound City Tax Account $1,213,052.78
Township Funds: $ 901,339.10
Tax Funds: $1,197,813.22
David Gollon seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve Sanitary District #1 Treasurer’s Report as submitted stating the following fund balances:
Sanitary District #1 $15,289.88
David Gollon seconded the motion. Motion carried.
7) Bills to be approved. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the January 5th, 2021 vouchers in the amount of $64,322.44 and Sanitary District #1 vouchers in the amount of $395.44. David Pope seconded the motion. Motion carried.
8) Town Roads/Equipment Report. Town Patrolman, Randy Beerkircher indicated that the new F350 is currently on schedule and that they have been working on brushing roadways.
9) Clerk/Treasurer Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated that nomination papers were received from Curt Peterson and Bill Dolan for the Town Chairman position and David Pope and Kyle Levetzow for Town Board Supervisors. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated the audit would be performed on January 18th and 19th and would be looking into a record retention policy in regards to purging documents within the vault.
10) Discussion & possible action re: 2021 Stray Animal Contract. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the 2021 stray animal contract with the Iowa County Humane Society with the same verbiage from the 2020 contract being placed in the current contract. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
11) Discussion & possible action re: Fill-In Recycling Center Attendant. The Town Board discussed the need to have a fill-in Recycling Center Attendant. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to post the Fill-In Recycling Center Attendant position. David Gollon seconded the motion. Motion carried.
12) Discussion & possible action re: Recycling Center. No action was taken. Town Supervisor, David Gollon indicated that he would still like to develop a plan in regards to the 42-yard Recycling container.
13) Discussion & possible action re: Establishment of COVID-19 Policy. No action was taken.
14) Adjournment. David Gollon made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:25 p.m. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.
