Town Board Meeting Minutes
January 7th, 2014
6:00 p.m.

1) Call to order. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Town Supervisors in attendance were: David Gollon, David Blume, Dorothy Gullickson and Steve Johnson. Also in attendance were Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Greg Jewell and Fred Gruber.

2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, David Gollon made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, Steven Johnson. Motion carried.

David Blume made a motion to suspend the agenda and move to Item #8. Steven Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

3) Discussion & possible action re: Blotz Bridge Project. Greg Jewell and Fred Gruber presented the Board with additional information in regards to the Blotz Bridge project after meeting with the representative from the DNR. The engineers indicated that the DNR haven’t completed the delineation of the wetlands, therefore the building of the bridge may be pushed back to 2016 versus 2015. The engineers discussed the different alternatives the Township has in detail. The Town of Dodgeville will be submitting a letter to KJohnson requesting additional bridge funds as well as submitted an application for TRIP-D funds for this project.

4) Approval of Meeting Minutes from December 3rd, 2013. David Blume made a motion to approve the December 3rd minutes with the following correction being made on Item #7: David Blume seconded the motion versus David Gollon. David Gollon seconded the motion. Motion carried.

5) Approval of Treasurer’s Report for General, Sanitary District #1, 2, and Tax Collection Account. David Blume made a motion to approve the Town of Dodgeville December 2013 Treasurer’s Report stating the following fund balances:

General Checking $ 103,079.86
Farmer’s Savings $ 5,393.68
M&I Tax Account $1,104,493.58
Local Government Investment Pool $ 6,971.24
M&I CD’s $ 50,806.27
Farmer’s Savings – Tax Acct $ 395,943.19

Township Funds: $1,666,687.82

Steven Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

David Blume made a motion to approve Sanitary Districts #1 and 2 Treasurer’s Report as submitted stating the following fund balances:

Sanitary District #1 $15,919.89
Sanitary District #2 $12,267.11

Steven Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

6) Bills to be approved. David Blume made a motion to approve the January vouchers totaling $35,611.97. David Gollon seconded the motion. Motion carried.

7) Town Roads/Equipment Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated that she had received in e-mail in regards to the county upgrading their existing radios. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson recommended that this be added as an agenda item to the February Town Board meeting. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson also indicated that minor repairs were performed on the International.

8) Clerk/Treasurer Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson had indicated that the 2013 audit would be occurring at the end of January. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson also shared correspondence from the Iowa County Planning & Development in regards to citation 075-2013-01 and compliance that was issued to a Town resident.

9) Discussion & possible action re: Plan Commission Appointment. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated that Ron Robson who resides on Wiest Road had indicated that he would be interested in serving on the Plan Commission Board. David Blume made a motion to appoint Ron Robson to the Town Plan Commission to finish the remainder of Robert Butler’s term. Steven Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

10) Discussion & possible action re: Approval or Denial of Class “B” Beer/Liquor License for Barn 23 Bar & Restaurant (Sarah Woerpel, Agent). No action.

11) Discussion & possible action re: Bid Specifications for Plow Truck. Town Supervisor, David Gollon had indicated that he needed some clarification on a document received by Madison Truck prior to taking any action. No action taken.

12) Discussion & possible action re: Lift Station Update (Sanitary District #1). Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson had indicated that one of the pumps in Sanitary District #1 has debris lodge into the pump and will need to be fixed in the spring when the weather is warmer. LW Allen also indicated that it also needs a new lifting ball in order to pull the pump without going into the lift station.

13) Discussion & possible action re: Year End Budget Review. The Town Board reviewed the year-end budget for 2013 prior to the annual audit.

14) Public Comment. None.

15) Adjournment. David Gollon made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Dorothy Gullickson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
