Town Board Meeting Minutes
October 17, 2022
*6:00 p.m.*
1) Call to order. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Town Supervisors in attendance were Peter Vanderloo, David Pope and Pam Johnson-Loy. Excused was Kyle Levetzow. Also, in attendance was Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson.
Everyone in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, David Pope made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, Pam Johnson-Loy. Motion carried.
3) Discussion & possible action re: 2023 Budget. The Town Board worked on preparing a final draft of the 2023 budget.
4) Closed Session in accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85 (1) (c) to consider employment, promotion, employee hours, compensation or performance evaluation of any public employee of which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. David Pope made a motion to go into Closed Session in accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85 (1) (c) to consider employment, promotion, employee hours, compensation or performance evaluation of any public employee of which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Roll call: Peterson, yes; Pope, yes; Johnson-Loy; yes and Vanderloo, yes. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson was also present until discussion of compensation for the Clerk/Treasurer.
5) Reconvene into Open Session. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to reconvene into open session. David Pope seconded the motion. Motion carried.
6) Board action as a result of Closed Session. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to increase the Clerk/Treasurer’s salary by 4.0% to $60,043.43 effective January 1st, 2023. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to increase the full-time patrolmen hourly wage by 4.0% effective January 1st, 2023. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to increase the Recycling Center Attendant wage to $18.00 effective January 1st, 2023. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to increase the seasonal employee wage for Jim Rochon to $23.50 effective January 1st, 2023. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to increase the Chief Election Inspector wage to $15.50 an hour and Election Inspector wage to $15.00 effective January 1st, 2023. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
7) Continuation of Item #4 – Discussion & possible action re: 2023 Budget. The Town Board prepared the final numbers for the 2023 budget. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to present the drafted budget at the public budget hearing. David Pope seconded the motion. Motion carried.
8) Public Comment. None
9) Adjournment. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:37 p.m. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
