Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, October 27th, 2014
The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, October 27th at 6:30 P.M. Plan Commission Chairman Greg Jewell called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.
Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: Greg Jewell, Katherine Cahill, Ron Robson, Steven Johnson, Daryl Tresner and Curt Peterson. Absent was: Robert Fitzsimmons.
Others in attendance were: Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, John Ley, Donald Ley, Darrin Crook & Kimberly Crook.
Chairman Greg Jewell verified that proper notice of the meeting was posted on October 23rd, 2014 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Jumping Jupiter, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Steven Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the August 19th, 2013 meeting minutes as submitted. Kathy Cahill seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Greg Jewell asked Darrin & Kimberly Crook to provide information to the Planning Commission on the rezoning application of approximately 1.49 acres from B-2 Business/A-1 Non-Conforming to AR-1 located in part of the NW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 9, Town 6 North, Range 3 East at 4044 State Road 23. Darrin Crook had indicated they had purchased this parcel of land that was previously owned by Sullivan’s however it was determined that the land in which the Sullivan’s had occupied and deeded wasn’t what they had owned. Darrin had indicated that the situation was corrected between all the adjoining land owners however the parcel is currently non-conforming and has two different zoning classifications. They had indicated that they would like to make the parcel conforming. Curt Peterson made a motion to recommend the approval of the rezoning application of approximately 1.49 acres from B-2 Business/A-1 Non-Conforming to AR-1 located in part of the NW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 9, Town 6 North, Range 3 East at 4044 State Road 23 currently being owned by Darrin & Kimberly Crook. Steven Johnson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
John & Donald Ley spoke in regards to the Comprehensive Plan and the need for review on some topics as they feel that times have changed compared to ten years ago when the Plan was adopted. The Town Plan Commission had indicated that they would be reviewing all elements of the Comprehensive Plan this upcoming year as it has been ten years and would be forwarding a survey to landowners and residents to get feedback in regards to some of the topics. Donald Ley also had questions in regards to a petition that would be coming before the Plan Commission within a few months. The Plan Commission was unable to answer questions as they weren’t familiar with the situation and indicated that they would discuss the petition when it appeared on the agenda.
Steven Johnson made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Kathy Cahill seconded the motion. Motion carried.
