Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, October 28th, 2019

The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, October 28th, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. Town Board Chairman Curt Peterson called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were: Larry Nelson, Peter Vanderloo, Curt Peterson, Ron Robson, Darold Tresner and Mary Wilson. Absent was David Blume.

Others in attendance were: Steven Hyatt, Daniel Beckman and Sandra Beckman.

Town Board Chairman Curt Peterson verified that proper notice of the public hearing was posted on October 15th, 2019 in accordance to WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Pleasant Ridge Store, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Ron Robson made a motion to approve the June 24th, 2019 Plan Commission meeting minutes with the addition of adding Mary Wilson to the members in attendance. Daryl Tresner seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The Planning Commission and Sandra & Daniel Beckman discussed the rezoning application to rezone 2 acres more or less from A-1 to AR-1 located in part of the NE ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 23, Township 6 North, Range 3 East located at 5051 County Road YZ. The Town Planning Commission also discussed the density standard and if applicable due to the land being rezoned is designated in the commercial district on the land use map. Ron Robson made a motion to recommend the approval of the rezoning application of R&B Beckman Enterprises/Daniel & Sandra Beckman to rezone 2 acres more or less from A-1 to AR-1 located in part of the NE ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 23, Township 6 North, Range 3 East located at 5051 County Road YZ. Daryl Tresner seconded the motion. Motion carried. Peter Vanderloo abstained from the motion.

The Planning Commission and Steven Hyatt discussed the rezoning application to rezone 10 acres more or less from A-1 Non-Conforming to AR-1 located in part of the NW ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 36, Town 7 North, Range 2 East located at 4605 Otter Road. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented e-mails that were received from Iowa County Planning Commission Administrator Scott Godfrey in regards to how this particular property became A-1 Non-Conforming. The Planning Commission and Steve Hyatt discussed the circumstances surrounding the application and the inability to meet the density standard. The Planning Commission indicated that they would like to work with the landowner and requested that the petitioner have an attorney draft a precise description of the circumstances to be filed as part of the process, so that it is clear that the rezoning action is to address a unique case and not set a general precedent for any future zoning requests. Curt Peterson made a motion to place this rezoning application on the November 25th agenda for further discussion. Ron Robson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Ron Robson made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:49 p.m. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
