Town Board Meeting Minutes
October 2nd, 2018
*6:00 p.m.*

1) Call to order. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Town Supervisors in attendance were: David Gollon, Peter Vanderloo, David Blume and Kyle Levetzow. Also in attendance were Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Jeffrey Haylock, Jeff Jacobson and Randy Beerkircher.

Everyone in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, David Gollon made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, David Blume. Motion carried.

David Gollon made a motion to suspend the agenda and move to Item #8 Referendum Presentation – Dodgeville School District. David Blume seconded the motion. Motion carried.

3) Referendum Presentation – Dodgeville School District. District Administrator Jeff Jacobson presented information in regards to the Dodgeville School District Referendum to the Town Board and public that were present.

4) Approval of Meeting Minutes from September 12th, 2018. David Gollon made a motion to approve the meeting minutes from September 12th, 2018 as presented. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

5) Approval of Treasurer’s Report for General, Sanitary District #1 and Tax Collection Account. David Gollon made a motion to approve the Town of Dodgeville’s September 2018 Treasurer’s Report stating the following fund balances:

General Checking $ 88,072.29
Farmer’s Savings $ 386,907.62
Local Government Investment Pool $ 7,156.41
Farmer’s Savings Tax Account $ 0.00
Mound City Tax Account $ 158,786.40

Township Funds: $ 640,922.72
Tax Funds: $ 0.00

Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.

David Gollon made a motion to approve Sanitary District #1 Treasurer’s Report as submitted stating the following fund balances:

Sanitary District #1 $15,521.57

Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.

6) Bills to be approved. David Gollon made a motion to approve the October 2nd, 2018 vouchers in the amount of $166,879.97 and Sanitary District #1 vouchers in the amount of $10,346.70. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

7) Town Roads/Equipment Report. Town Patrolman, Randy Beerkircher presented information in regards to the need of new tires on the F550, budgeting for 2 grader tires in 2019 and the possibility of purchasing a safety ladder. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson presented cost estimates for Jewell & Associates for a proposed TRIP project on Leffler Road. The Town Board recommended that Randy Beerkircher work with Town Board Supervisor David Gollon in regards to new tires for the F550.

8) Clerk/Treasurer Report. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated that Fall Clean-up will be held on October 20th, 2018, the hook-up of sewer/water to the City of Dodgeville would take place in November by Rule Construction and the November Town Board meeting wouldn’t be held on Tuesday, November 6th due to the election. The Town Board chose to move the Regular Town Board meeting to Wednesday, November 7th at 6:00 p.m.

9) Discussion & possible action re: Request for Proposals – Assessment Services. The Town Board discussed the possibility of requesting proposals for assessment services. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to send out a request for proposals for assessment services. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

10) Discussion & possible action re: Ordinance Chapter 7 Intoxicating Liquor and Fermented Malt Beverage License Amendment. The Town Board discussed the drafted amendment and made modifications to the document. The Town Board requested that Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson contact each license holder in regards to business hours and days of operation. The Town Board indicated that they would further discuss the amendment at the next meeting once this information was obtained. David Gollon left during the discussion of this agenda item.
11) Discussion & possible action re: 2019 Budget. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented a copy of the 2019 working budget.

12) Discussion & possible action re: Setting up of Budget Meeting. The Town Board indicated that the next budget meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.

13) Approval or Denial of Operator’s Licenses for 2018-2019 licensing year: Shelby Miess. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to approve the operator’s licenses for Shelby Miess. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

14) Public Comment. None.

15) Adjournment. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:57 p.m. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
