Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, September 26th 2022
The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, September 26th at 6:00 P.M. Planning Commission Chairman Larry Nelson called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.
Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were Larry Nelson, Curt Peterson, Peter Vanderloo, Krista Dolan and Mary Wilson. Absent was Paul Lawinger.
Planning Commission member Larry Nelson verified that proper notice of the public hearing was posted on September 22nd, 2022 in accordance with WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Pleasant Ridge Store, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Curt Peterson made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Krista Dolan made a motion to approve the August 29th, 2022 Plan Commission meeting minutes as presented. Mary Wilson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The Planning Commission discussed the discrepancies between the Land Use Map dated November 1st, 2005 and the Land Use Map H.1 which was adopted with the Comprehensive Plan. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to recommend amending the Land Use Map H.1 to reflect the following:
Section 24 (County YZ) – Utilize Land Use Map 11/1/2005 to reflect the Rural Residential Area
Section 31 (County Z) – Utilize Land Use Map H.1 to reflect the Rural Residential Area
Section 22 (Greater Heights) – Remove Greater Heights Subdivision as annexed into the City of Dodgeville
Section 12 & 13 (County Z) – Utilize Land Use Map H.1 to reflect the Rural Residential Area
Bethel Horizons – Utilize Land Use Map 11/1/2005
Larry Nelson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Curt Peterson made a motion to recommend amending the Land Use Map H.1 to reflect the following:
Section 18 (Wilson Rd) – Utilize Land Use Map 11/1/2005
Krista Dolan seconded the motion. Motion carried. Mary Wilson abstained.
Curt Peterson also made a motion to recommend amending Section H-5 Commercial and Industrial Areas to add a 7th bullet point that reads as follows:
7. The residential density standard doesn’t apply to commercial properties mapped on the Land Use Map excluding Bethel Horizons.
Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The Planning Commission discussed the Land Use Plan in regards to potential uses and residential allowances on a parcel owned by Weier Family Trust which is located within the Commercial and Industrial Areas on the Land Use Map. The Planning Commission discussed and indicated that the residential density standard doesn’t apply to the commercial and industrial areas mapped on the Land Use Map. The Planning Commission indicated if an individual owning land within the mapped Commercial and Industrial Areas wanted to propose a change to a different land use area a detailed plan would need to be brought forth to the Planning Commission and if approval is given modifications would need to be completed to the Comprehensive Plan.
Krista Dolan made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:18 p.m. Mary Wilson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
