Plan Commission Meeting
Monday, September 30th, 2024

The Town of Dodgeville Plan Commission met on Monday, September 30th at 6:00 P.M. Planning Commission member Curt Peterson called the Planning Commission meeting to order at 6:11 P.M.

Plan Commission Committee members in attendance were Curt Peterson, Peter Vanderloo, Mary Wilson and Julie Dolan. Absent were: Paul Lawinger, John Dunbar and Krista Dolan. Also in attendance were Larry Nelson and Birgit Hylton.

Planning Commission member Curt Peterson verified that proper notice of the public hearing was posted on September 18th, 2024 in accordance with WI Statutes 19.84 (3) at the Town Message Boards at Pleasant Ridge Store, Mueller Implement and the Town Office. Julie Dolan made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda. Mary Wilson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Peter Vanderloo made a motion to approve the August 26th, 2024 meeting minutes as presented. Julie Dolan seconded the motion. Motion carried.

The rezoning application of Dean & Julie Redell and Oxnem Acres LLC to rezone 1.095 acres more or less from A-1 Ag Legal Non-Conforming & A-1 Ag to AR-1 located in the NE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 32, Town 6 North, Range 3 East located at 4165 County Road CH. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented the application and maps. The Planning Commission discussed the rezoning petition of the 1.095 acres to bring the property into conformity to allow the Redell’s to replace their current septic system for their existing home. Julie Dolan made a motion to recommend the rezoning application of Dean & Julie Redell and Oxnem Acres LLC to rezone 1.095 acres more or less from A-1 Ag Legal Non-Conforming & A-1 Ag to AR-1 located in the NE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 32, Town 6 North, Range 3 East located at 4165 County Road CH. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson indicated that applicant Daniel Gollon withdrew his conditional use application at this time for the purpose of tack swaps and vendor shows, hosting auctions, hosting riding shows and rodeos, horse clinics, kid camps, birthday parties and riding demonstrations located on a 10.02 acre parcel zoned AB-1 located in the SW ¼ of the SW 1.4 of Section 25, Town 6 North, Range 3 East at 4820 Brennan Road. This item was not discussed by the Planning Commission.

Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented the Planning Commission members with the requested flow chart breaking down what is required if you have 40 acres or more, 2 acres or more but less than 40 acres and if we amend the plan as well as a map from Iowa County Planning & Development showing what all the parcels are zoned in the Town of Dodgeville. The Town Planning Commission members and the members of the public that were present discussed the flowchart and indicated that we would still need to come up with definitions and verbiage if the Comprehensive Plan is going to be modified. The Planning Commission members were asked to continue to think about the possible definitions as this topic would be further discussed at the next Planning Commission meeting. No action was taken.

Peter Vanderloo made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:50 p.m. Mary Wilson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
