Town Board Meeting Minutes
September 3rd, 2024
*6:00 p.m. *


1) Call to order. Town Supervisor, Curt Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.

Town Supervisors in attendance were David Pope and Pam Johnson-Loy. Absent were: Peter Vanderloo and Kyle Levetzow. Also in attendance were Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson, Jeff Haylock and Kevin Zajicek.

Everyone in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

2) Approval of Public Notice/Agenda. Supervisor, David Pope made a motion to approve the public notice and agenda seconded by Supervisor, Pam Johnson-Loy. Motion carried.

3) Public Comment. Jeff Haylock inquired about the current costs of operating the Recycling Center.

Peter Vanderloo arrived at the meeting.

4) Approval of Meeting Minutes from August 6th, 2024 and August 26th, 2024. David Pope made a motion to approve the meeting minutes from August 6th, 2024 and August 26th, 2024 as presented. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.

5) Approval of Treasurer’s Report for General, Sanitary District #1 and Tax Collection Account. Pam Johnson-Loy made a motion to approve the Town of Dodgeville’s August 2024 Treasurer’s Report stating the following fund balances:

General Checking $ 236,191.48
General Checking – Tax Funds $ 0.00
Farmer’s Savings $ 207,075.38
Farmer’s Savings – Tax Funds $ 0.00
Local Government Investment Pool $ 8,171.04
Farmer’s Savings Tax Account $ 0.00
Intra-Fi CD’s $ 838,923.56

Township Funds: $1,290,361.46
Tax Funds: $ 0.00
ARPA Funds: $ 129,412.84

David Pope seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Pam Johnson-Loy made a motion to approve Sanitary District #1 Treasurer’s Report as submitted stating the following fund balances:

Sanitary District #1 $ 18,077.05

David Pope seconded the motion. Motion carried.

6) Bills to be approved. David Pope made a motion to approve the September 3rd, 2024 vouchers in the amount of $185,017.34 and Sanitary District #1 vouchers in the amount of $4,416.00. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Kyle Levetzow arrived during the discussion of this item.

7) Town Roads/Equipment Report. Town Patrolman, Kevin Zajicek updated the Town Board in regards to the status of the mowers and the fixing of a tie rod on the F-550.

8) Clerk/Treasurer Report. Clerk/Treasurer, Sara Olson indicated that the City Council will be discussing room tax on the September 3rd agenda.

9) Discussion & possible action re: Purchasing of Mack Truck / Extended Warranty. Peter Vanderloo made a motion to purchase a 2025 Graf Mack Truck and extended warranty in the amount of $171,471.50. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.

10) Discussion & possible action re: Scheduling of Fall Clean-Up. David Pope made a motion to have Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson schedule the Fall Clean-Up. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.

11) Discussion & possible action re: Wisconsin Towns Association Fall Workshop. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson presented information in regards to the Wisconsin Towns Association Fall Workshop that will be held on Tuesday, September 17th at Deer Valley Lodge in Barneveld. David Pope made a motion to approve any Town Board member as well as the Clerk/Treasurer to attend the Wisconsin Towns Association Fall Workshop. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.

12) Discussion & possible action re: Engineering for Parking Lot Improvements. The Town Board discussed the local engineering firms in the area that would be able to provide engineering services. Town Chairman, Curt Peterson requested that the Town Board members look at the portfolios of these companies online and requested this item be placed on next months agenda for continued discussion. No action was taken.

13) Closed Session in accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85 (1) (c) to consider employment, promotion, employee hours, compensation or performance evaluation of any public employee of which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. (Employment) Kyle Levetzow made a motion to go into Closed Session in accordance with Wisconsin Statue 19.85 (1) (c) to consider employment, promotion, employee hours, compensation or performance evaluation of any public employee of which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Roll call: Peterson, yes; Pope, yes; Levetzow, yes; Johnson-Loy; yes and Vanderloo, yes. Clerk/Treasurer Sara Olson and Town Patrolman Kevin Zajicek were present during Closed Session.

14) Reconvene into Open Session. David Pope made a motion to reconvene into open session. Kyle Levetzow seconded the motion. Motion carried.

15) Board action as a result of Closed Session. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to set up interviews on Wednesday, September 11th beginning at 6:00 p.m. with alternative dates of September 9th or September 12th. Pam Johnson-Loy seconded the motion. Motion carried.

16) Adjournment. Kyle Levetzow made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:24 p.m. Peter Vanderloo seconded the motion. Motion carried.
